CINEMA REWIND

Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, and Jane Lynch have joined the cast of Paul, a new comedy written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.  The two will play sci-fi fans from the UK who encounter an alien named Paul (voiced by Rogen) near area 51 after a trip to the San Diego comic-con.

Although Pegg and Frost are involved in the project, Paul is not the third film in the "Blood and Ice Cream" trilogy, which includes Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.  The major discrepancy is that Edgar Wright, who co-wrote and directed both Shaun' and Fuzz, will just be an executive producer for this film.

Paul will instead be directed by Greg Mottola, who previously worked with Rogen and Hader on Superbad, as well as Hader and Wiig on Adventureland.

The film will begin shooting this summer and is set for a 2010 release by distributor Universal.
